SolarShare aims to purchase solar farms and, using blockchain technology, make digital copies of these farms, that are fractionalized, ownable, and tradeable worldwide. Individual solar panels and their monthly revenue will be bought, sold and earned, all the while representing Real World Assets (RWA). More on Solarshare Operations.
With energy demands increasing worldwide rapidly, the transition to renewable energy sources stands as one of the defining challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Among these sources, solar energy, with its ubiquitous presence and sustainability, plays a pivotal role. However, the journey towards a solar-powered future is fraught with obstacles, including substantial initial investments, complexity in ownership and returns, and accessibility for the average global citizen.
This chart should highlight the disparity between the amount of solar infrastructure required to power the entire Earth and the current lack of available energy worldwide, underscoring the untapped opportunity in solar energy. It is clear that there is a massive need for fast and easy access, to solar investments to scale up the solar infrastructure and energy output worldwide.
Another significant challenge confronting the global renewable energy sector is the geographical disparity in solar radiation. Much of Europe and North America, regions with a strong appetite for renewable energy investments, receive relatively low levels of solar irradiance compared to sunnier climates like those found in South America, Africa, the Middle East and North-West regions of Australia.
This uneven distribution of solar potential complicates the investment landscape, as solar energy, inherently tied to physical assets, traditionally demands significant local investment and management. Consequently, investors in less irradiated regions face substantial barriers to maximizing their solar energy investments.
Last but certainly not least, environmental degradation remains one of the most pressing challenges of our time, with the relentless exploitation of fossil fuels playing a significant role in exacerbating this issue. The burning of coal, oil, and natural gas for energy production contributes substantially to air pollution, acid rain, and the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, leading to climate change and global warming. These environmental impacts not only threaten the planet's biodiversity and ecosystems but also pose severe risks to human health and economies worldwide.
The graphs presented underscore two critical insights: firstly, that the energy sector is the predominant source of greenhouse gas emissions, directly aligning with the focus of our initiative; and secondly, they reveal a stark correlation between these emissions and the escalating trend of global warming. By democratizing access to solar investments and making them affordable for all, SolarShare is not just offering an investment opportunityβit's championing a shift towards renewable energy. This transition is vital in our collective effort to combat the climate crisis, a looming threat that endangers our planet.
